GUST and ABK Sign a Memorandum of Cooperation
Kuwait City, 9th September 2015: Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) today at the university’s premises, with the intention to expand the current form of collaboration between GUST and ABK in the academic and the practical areas.
The MOC will give ABK the chance to become more involved with the students through the sponsorships, internships, and the supporting of the recruitment of GUST’s high-potential graduates. Stemming out to GUST faculty, the MOC will be supporting ABK employees through various training and development programs, while ABK will also be supporting the faculty with conducting the research and providing the consultations in the relevant fields of the study.
Professor Donald Bates, GUST President, said: “This MOC will help the university in providing more opportunities to our students to grow and to excel in a productive learning environment; as well as to our faculty to conduct their research and to develop their skills by the access to one of the best institutions in the country.”
Also present at the signing was Dr. Salah Al-Sharhan, GUST Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Acting Vice President for Planning and Development, Dr. Sabah Al-Quaddoomi, GUST Vice President for Academic Services, Mr. Sadegh Zobeidi, Director of PACE at GUST, Mr. Abdulla Al-Sumait, ABK Deputy Chief GM, Mr. Hamza Enki, ABK GM, Human Resources and Mr. Jasem Al-Salman, ABK Assistant GM, Human Resources.
Mr. Abdulla Al-Sumait, DCGM at Al-Ahli Bank of Kuwait, said: “We have always been keen to strengthen the relationship with the academic organizations of Higher Education such as GUST, whose purpose is to shape and form the upcoming generation as leaders not just extraordinary employees.
