A number of the English department students formed a gathering to express their dissatisfaction and to stop what they believe is hindering their academic progress. Those students conveyed their sense of unjust to Academia newspaper, as the English department is the only department in the College of Basic Education which requires its students to complete a course entitled “Micro Teaching” one semester before graduation. Thus, causing many of the students, if not most of them, to graduate one semester later than their colleagues in other departments. Many have filed formal complaints to the administrative officals, but none of which reached a solution. However, It seems that this time they are closer than ever to reach a better outcome, for they have caught the attention of many including the head of the English department.

This gathering has given a voice to all the students of this department. Many have supported them, even those who will not benefit from their demands, for some of them are graduating this semester yet they feel obligated to help lift the injustice that this regulation has casued on their colleagues. A hundred students have joined this gathering so far and the numbers are still increasing; those students running this campaign are very optimistic that their problem will soon be solved.
