Kuwait University accepted all registered Kuwaiti applicants and children of Kuwaiti mothers for the second semester 2014/2015

Dean of the Deanship of Admission and Registration at Kuwait University, Dr. Subeeh Al-Mukhaizeem announced the acceptance of 2187 students of Kuwaitis and children of Kuwaiti mothers, who met the requirements for second semester of 2014/2015. This number of students is distributed to both semesters, 1051 students for the first semester whose acceptance have been postponed and 1136 students who met the requirements for the second semester of the academic year of 2014/2015.

Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem added that accepting this number of Kuwaiti students and children of Kuwaiti mothers for the first semester was according to a decree issued by the University Council Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem assured that the seats given to students at various colleges at KU were strictly based on their high school percentages or their equivalent average and according to the standard college admission, without discriminating between male and female applicants or between Kuwaitis and children of Kuwaiti mothers.

Equivalent average and minimum average for KU:

Dean of Admission and Registration stated that the establishment of a clear base for the minimum average accepted in all majors. Al-Mukhazeem continued that admission in some colleges like Engineering and Petroleum, College of Business Administration, College Life Sciences, and Computer Sciences section at College of Science, depended on the equivalent rate which is calculated based on the results of academic aptitude tests performed by students before being admitted to the university in addition to their high school percentage.

Student Service Center

The Student Care Center specialized for freshmen students at the Dean of Admission and Registration will continue to offer its services until Thursday 25/12/2014, to respond to queries from students on their majors, appointments of registration period, as well as the minimum admission percentages at all colleges and all other inquiries by calling them on 1866000

Registration of courses

Dean of Admission and Registration announced all postponed accepted students have been approved for the 2nd semester 2014/2015 and the period for new students registration for the courses which will start 28/12/2014 till 31/12/2014, and each student will have an appointment for submitting the required documents to approve their acceptance and registering for the second semester of 2014/2015 courses. The Deanship will send an SMS through mobile phones to new students informing them on their appointment dates and time of registration. All students should keep into consideration the importance of committing to the given appointment, students have to visit the registration hall in Shuwaikh on their specified appointment date and they will not be allowed in on the same day if they miss their appointment. Knowing that the students do not have to come in person, a representative can come on their behalf with an ID of the registered student and the application form.

All accepted students can check their appointments for registration through the Deanship’s website on (http://registrar.ku.edu.kw) . Students who fail to attend the appointment assigned for them can complete their registration by the end of the registration period.

Results for students expected to graduate from English High School

Al-Mukheizeem added that all students who are expected to graduate from English system high schools and who have already submitted their applications before 23/12/2014 are expected to present their original high school certificates within two days from the announcement of their final results to start their admission process and to arrange their registration appointments.

Al-Mukheizeem extended his appreciation to the representatives and employees of Admission and Registration Department, and in particular Nada Al-Mutlaq, Head of Admission Department, and Head of Registration Department Sanabel Al-Dowesan, expressing his gratitude to Information System employees and all the employees who participated in the registration process for their hard work and effort and their productive participation in collecting the registration forms for the second semester of 2014/2015 and for the process of courses’ registration.

Dean of Admission and Registration Dr. Sobeeh Al-Mukheizeem concluded his press release by wishing the very best for new students and their families and congratulated them on their admission at Kuwait University.
