Delegation from Council of Saudi Chambers pays visit to AOU Training Center
A delegation from the National Committee for Training at the Council of Saudi Chambers, paid a visit to the Training Center of the Arab Open University (AOU). Dr. Sami Khalifa, Manager of the Training Center, welcomed the delegation headed by Dr. Ahmad Sultan Nasser and expressed his pleasure for the visit, cherishing the efforts of the committee in the areas of training and human resource development.
The delegation was briefed on the AOU’s mission and vision as well as its programs across its branches that operate in eight Arab countries. They were also introduced to the Center’s training and counselling services, and the agreements and protocols that the AOU has signed with various Arab and international bodies.
On his part, Dr. Khalifa Hassan expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and valued the AOU’s role in training and research. He pointed out that the visit is one of the visits paid to a number of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in order to consider the best practices of training and development in the GCC countries, and to reach an agreement and a strategic partnership on training for serving labor markets and developmental tracks in the GCC countries.
During the meeting, both parties were ready to cooperate for the common good and the programs of sustainable developmental plans in Arab countries. In addition, numerous ideas about the important issues of training and development were addressed, such as the possibility of cooperation, coordination and exchange of experiences to achieve the goals of both the Center and the committee and to promote the environment of business management and the programs of training and development at the Gulf and Arab levels.
The meeting was also attended by Naif Al-Fadli from the Department of Training, Development and Community Service, the AOU Headquarters, and Eng. Misherf Al-Royali and Hanan Al-Atas from the visiting delegation.
