College of Dentistry at Kuwait University and Kuwait Dental Research Association organized their 15th conference at Conference hall of Health Sciences Center in Jabriya.

In this regard, the President of Kuwait Dental Research Association and Head of the organizing committee of the conference Dr. Rashed Al- Azmi indicated that this conference is considered as part of the activities plan which was launched several years ago between the College of Dentistry and Kuwait Dental Research Association in one hand and the Primary Care Center for Oral and Dental Health affiliated to World Health Organization (WHO) on the other. Also, a meeting of World Association for Dental Research in the Middle East and Africa was held and is currently headed by Dean of College of Dentistry at KU Dr. Jawad Behbahani

In this regard, Al Azmi added that the first day discussed the latest developments in the world of oral and dental health reducing the differences in the provision of oral health services globally. The second day was allocated for the Conference on World Association for Dental Research headed by Dr. Jawad Behbahani and members: Dr. Rashed Al Azmi and Dr. Aino Honekala, where reports of developing countries were presented to the organization, to provide the necessary support for dental research. Subsequently a number of researches were accepted from several countries and will be presented and discussed during the Scientific Poster Day or seminars.

Also, WHO Global Oral Health Prof. Hiroshikawa shed light on the latest oral health development throughout primary care .The scientific program also included a lecture on the history and plans of WHO programs in the Middle East and Africa Al Azmi indicated that Kuwait Dental Research Association was founded in the year 2000, and is considered one of the largest branches of International Organization for Dental Research in the Middle East and Africa, pointing out that the College of Dentistry organized over 14 international conferences of Kuwait Dental Research Association since its founding, while Kuwait University supports these conferences every two years ,the College organizes a joint conference every two years in case of absence of financial support provided by the university.

The Board of Directors of the World Association for Dental Research in the Middle East and Africa will discuss aspects of future cooperation in the field of Dental Research in this area.
