Submitting University Applications for the Second Semester from 23/12/2016 – 27/12/2016
Dean of Admission and Registration at Kuwait University, Dr. Adel Hussein Malallah announced that submitting applications electronically for the second semester of 2016/2017 for Kuwaiti students, children of Kuwaiti mothers, GCC citizens , and stateless students, who meet the requirements and are graduates of the unified system, Islamic institute, American and English system graduates, and expected graduates will start on Friday 23/12/2016 until Tuesday 27/12/2016. All students who wish to enroll at Kuwait University for the second semester of 2016/2017 of other categories mentioned above must visit the Admission and Registration hall in Shuwaikh during the official working hours through the period of 25-27/12/2016 along with the required documents as shown in table (1),indicating the acceptance percentages in all colleges at the University applied for Kuwaiti students and children of Kuwaiti mothers announced in table (2), providing that the applying student should acquire a percentage no less than 70% (Scientific department) and 78% (literary department), on that basis students should meet all conditions when applying and any application with less than the mentioned percentages will be accepted.Submitting University Applications for the Academic Year of 2016/2017 will be on lineSubmitting applications for the admission process at KU will be via internet through the Deanship of Admission and Registration’s website on the following address www.portal.ku.edu.kw/admission.Confirming Enrolment ApplicationsDr. Malallah added that in the case of missing information for students a message will appear that includes a link redirecting to the Admission and Registration’s where the student can fill his/her information in a form on the Deanship’s page and send an e-mail to the Dean of Admission and Registration accompanied by a copy of a high school diploma and a copy of birth certificate (for the children of Kuwaiti mothers). The student can login the enrollment system after two working days submit an application and confirm his/her data .Noting that the validity of the student information is stipulated to the acceptance.Hotline to serve students 1866000, 24/7Dr. Malallah stated that the Deanship for Admission and Registration set a number for students services in case of any inquiry which is 1866000, during the period from 22-29/12/2016, knowing that this service will be available 24 hours daily.Students with Deferred Admission from the First Semester 2016/2017Dean of Admissions and Registration indicated that students who have been accepted for the second semester and announced their names and disciplines with acceptance of the first semesters’ results, their admission will be approved and receiving the supporting documents during from 25-27/12/2016 according to allocated dates that will be sent via their mobiles listed in their records, to refer to hall of Admission and Registration in Shuwaikh and provide the required documents and register for courses of the second semester 2016/2017.Noting that Students with deferred admission who wish to modify their disciplines, can access to the electronic admission system from 23 -27/12/2016, cancel the old application and apply for a new enrollment application provided that they have not been accepted in the previous desired discipline.The Required Documents and Approving Admission ProceduresDr. Malallah emphasized that students should bring the original high school certificate, the original Civil ID and a copy provided that the ID is still valid, the security card of stateless children of Kuwaiti mothers as well as a copy and the original birth certificate, the mother’s nationality and the civil ID, in addition to a passport copy, a recent and colored photo and a salary transfer certificate for Kuwaiti students and children of Kuwaiti mothers (IBAN number) to continue the procedures of dispersing social bonus after admission.Dr. Malallah indicated that the University has the right to cancel any application due to the lack of required documents or in case the admission was based on incorrect information according to the rules of admission and transfer of KU.Students with Special NeedsDr. Malallah stated that minimum percentages of admission for Kuwaiti students with special needs and foreign nationalities of children of Kuwaiti mothers who meet the required conditions, is 65% for the scientific section and 72% for the literary section, provided that they submit a certificate of disability from Ministry of Social Affairs as they should refer to Admission and Registration Hall during working hours to submit their applications for the second semester. if their percentages were higher than the minimum percentages of admission, students can submit their application electronically via the mention website above.English High School Students Expected to GraduateDr. Malallah asserted that English high school students expected to graduate shall submit their applications online during assigned dates and shall refer to Admission Hall to submit their results within 2 working days of receiving them in order to determine their specializations and complete registration procedures, stressing that the opportunity of admission regarding these students is equal to their colleagues who have submitted their applications during admission period.Transferred Students from other UniversitiesDr. Malallah added that is an assigned period for transferred students from other universities and Public Authority for Applied Education and Training complete the admission procedures or transfer which will be on 4/12/2016 -24/1/2017, providing their documents and transcripts to submit their applications for the second semester.In conclusion, Dr. Malallah urged students to review the instructions , guidelines whether on the internet or the admission guide and comply to the allocated dates of submitting applications.
