GUST Library Celebrates Release of 5 Books Authored by Faculty and Staff
- Five books released authored by university faculty members and staff
- 7th book release ceremony held at the university
Kuwait City, Febrauary 16th: Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) celebrated today the release of five different books authored by its faculty and staff at its A. M. Refai Library. Present at the event were GUST Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Salah Al Sharhan, Library Director, Ms. Shobhita Kohli, the authors of the books being released, and other members of the GUSTcommunity.
The books being launched are Social Media: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly by Dr. Salah Al Sharhan and Dr. Antonis C. Simintiras, Success and Failure of IS/IT Projects by Dr. Antonis C. Simintiras, Seida – The Journey of a Civilization (صيدا – مسيرة حضارة) by Dr. Salah Eddine Arkadan, Literary Madness in British, Postcolonial, and Bedouin Women’s Writing by Dr. Shahd Al Shammari, The Career Trajectories of English Language Teachers by Dr. Michael F. McMurray, Learning the Language of Global Citizenship by Dr. Adrian J. Wurr, Through Society’s Eyes by former GUST student, Ms. Afnan Al Musaileem, and How to buy a Franchise – Collection Volume and Take the Fear out of Franchising by Dr. John Hayes.
Each author showcased their book with an overview of the publication to attending guests after a ribbon cutting ceremony. GUST Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Salah Al Sharhan who submitted a chapter on the transforming of education in the GCC region, said, “I was invited by Canadian and Saudi academics to contribute and reflect on the e-learning experience in Kuwait.”
Library Director, Ms. Shobhita Kohli, also added, “The University’s library does not only hold books, but aids in their publication. Among the many purposes this library holds, supporting and encouraging publishing from within the GUST community plays a major role. This library not only serves students, but faculty members and staff altogether.”
This is the 7th book release ceremony held at the university as part of A. M. Al Refai Library’s efforts towards promoting publications from its members and encouraging the GUST community to do the same. Past publications include, Hybrid Intelligent Systems edited by Dr. Salah Al-Sharhan, Challenges and Channels edited by Dr. Ikram El Sherif, Al Muarada Al Siyasah by Dr. Abdulmohsen Jamal, and Ficciones Y Memorias by Dr. Angela M. Gonzalez Echeverry.
